In many ways the age old adage is true – you are what you think – especially when it comes to the impact of your personal filters on your attitude and mindset.

The way we move through life starts with what we are willing to hear, see and listen to, and why we choose to do so. At the same time, the impact of personal filters can change over time – and should – as we learn, more clearly understand, gain experience and wisdom and, most importantly, connect with others who share their experiences and insight to help us understand new perspectives.

I know it’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted a new podcast, and that is for good reason. I wanted to be clear in my mind and heart in order to share something of value that supports others and honors the diverse ways we each need understanding and love right now. My hope is that this podcast offers that – even if just a little bit.

On this episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I talk about the impact of personal filters on the way we see everything in life; how it can silently determine our actions and emotional state, the way we treat others and how we receive love, joy and good into our lives, too.

I share some personal stories I’ve experienced lately to go more in depth about the power of personal filters. I also offer up tips to help you see where your personal filters may or may not be supporting you and how to expand and/or refine them so that they support you more effectively. Lastly, I offer perspective on how we create filters in the first place, and ways we can implement mindfulness to instill new ones that serve us and our loved ones in a more direct, authentic way.
