“Practice Presence To Build Clarity and Self-Compassion”.

What does it mean to practice presence?

Is it a lifestyle? Mindset? Perspective? Journey? All of the above and more?

The way you practice presence changes as you grow and transform to new levels of self understanding and personal growth. However, the essence of practicing presence is simply the willingness to be honest with yourself, create a healthy self-care routine, and remember to own and honor your feelings – without avoiding or getting lost in them.

It’s very easy to push aside frustration, fears, doubts and any other emotion that feels uncomfortable. Yet, when you practice this kind of avoidance, the emotions you feel simply bubble up in other areas unexpectedly (and sometimes harshly), and create a low-level anxiety and discomfort that never quiets itself. This can be draining and keep you stuck in old patterns that no longer serve you while holding deeper understanding and healing at bay. At the same time, constantly swimming in emotions can keep you in turmoil and act as a distraction.

This is a common behavior for all of us, regardless of personal spiritual path or journey, so I wanted to talk about how to practice presence in order to build deeper clarity and self compassion. It’s the gift hidden in the depths of discomfort after all!

On the latest Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I discuss why it’s more important than ever to be patient and kind to ourselves to balance out tumultuous energy inside and out. The outside world is going through it’s own purging process and growth, just as you are looking at ways to clear really old clutter and heal wounds in order to move towards the goals and dreams you’ve been holding in your heart for longer than you can even remember.

When you are willing to be present with how and what you feel to dig deeper into the “why”, it’s easier create compassion for ourselves in our minds and hearts. Then, with greater lightness and clarity, you can try new strategies without self judgment and fear. It’s also easier to create and stick to a self-care routine, and switch it up as you change, grow, and need to meet new life challenges.

The best part? Once you get the hang of practicing being present with how you feel to the best of your ability, you can then act with faith and trust as allies to bolster our spirit, while practicing compassion for yourself and others. In this way, you also actively practice oneness. Tune into the latest podcast for more insights and tips on practicing presence and why it matters.
