Episode 102
“Feeling Lonely on the Spiritual Journey” on Spreaker.
It’s easy to begin feeling lonely on the spiritual journey.
Doing the inner work to focus on healing, changing patterns, and releasing habits that no longer serve us takes energy and attention. At the same time, our need for inner work can create disruptive energy that makes some connections in our support system uncomfortable, or they slowly become unable to help while we move through change.
This means our current community falls away, and a new one is not quite in place – or still in a state of flux. It can feel uncomfortable or a bit scary. And it’s all normal.
However, deciding to grow and honor our inner desire to be more authentic and spiritually – minded is ultimately a single hero’s journey. It takes dedication and a deep understanding of our emotions in a vacuum, meaning, how we feel absent of any outside influence and input from other people.
Going within is how we take advantage of the opportunity to practice our skills in discernment and get a closer look at how we create expectations about who those people are, and how they act. It’s our time to develop a unique connection and language with God and/or spirit, so we can feel confident in making our way forward in a clear direction – feeling guided and supported in faith and trust.
Which means we need to pay extra attention to how we judge ourselves, others, and what we think about what we are moving through.
On the latest podcast, I talk about feeling lonely on the spiritual journey, and why it’s an essential aspect of learning how to hear and trust our own intuition and inner voice. I also talk about how things in life may feel uncertain, and it’s OK. There’s a reason behind it all. Part of what’s so beautiful about the opportunity to be alone is that we get to understand how to trust ourselves, our inner guidance, and source of spiritual strength, while gaining confidence in our ability to be self-reliant. Lastly, I cover how to build a solid connection within during a period of inner awakening.
Remember, the spiritual connection we create means we are never truly alone, even when it feels like it. So embrace feeling lonely on the spiritual journey. Who knows what amazing things may be revealed!
