Episode 139
Listen to “Discovering Your Patience Practice” on Spreaker.
Taking time to understand what makes you impatient, why, and the reasons you continue with certain behaviors is all part of discovering your patience practice.
Knowing your patterns reveals a lot about personal triggers, coping mechanisms and unique strengths. In other words, it’s incredibly empowering information. Clearly seeing the deeper reasons behind your reactions and motivations also offers perspective on where you can find deeper self understanding, healing, and shift an outdated mindset permanently.
Taking time to go deeper also helps you explore where you easily exercise more patience naturally, and help you practice ways to grow your patience abilities in frustrating situations to improve your mental health, self-care, and to simply feel lighter in daily life. No matter what challenges you are facing, having a simple patience practice is an essential tool that provides perspective and leads you out of the “monkey mind” to a calmer, more objective perspective.
We all have challenges with finding patience no matter how “evolved” we feel or how much time we’ve spent on personal growth and self improvement. The real gift in going deeper into a patience practice is that you come to a place where you can accept what makes you feel challenged and off-balance, start noticing it more quickly in order to off-set it, and release attachment to what’s happening or to feeling victimized. Instead, you can acknowledge a feeling or situation and be present with it, without letting it diminish yourself worth or peace of mind – then let it go.
On this episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I talk about discovering your patience practice, why it’s so powerful, different perspectives and beliefs about patience, and offer tips and insights on creating a patience practice for yourself.
