Episode 8
To continue our rich conversation on karma and how it impacts your life, this episode of Flirting with Enlightenment focuses on the act of taking on karma from – or for – others.
What does that mean exactly? In it’s simplest definition, taking on karma is when a person or animal takes on the energy, circumstances or the disposition of another in order to help them, (or each other), evolve spiritually and heal. It’s a symbiotic relationship that has benefits for each person.
We take on another’s karma when we are moved with feeling and compassion to help someone else, or when you love someone so intensely, you take on their karma without even realizing it.
Bringing Things Back into Balance
In the big picture, everything must remain in balance. So if you take on karma from another, it has to go somewhere in your life experience. It can manifest emotionally, in our personal circumstances or physically in the body as an illness.
This is part of what can make karmic sharing confusing – especially if you are a sensitive person or if you aren’t aware it’s happening. You may suddenly notice things in your life that seem out of the ordinary for you that have no specific cause.
We can also mutually exchange energy with our pets help each other clear and experience true unconditional love. In this episode of Flirting with Enlightenment, I share a personal story about my cat Monty and how we’ve been evolving simultaneously on our mutual spiritual journey for the last 10 years.
