There are many ways guilt can surface in your mind and heart, and it isn’t always easy to spot the source. It can also be a silent driving force behind a challenging emotional situation, making it hard for you to pinpoint, release or heal the core issue in order to move forward in a positive way.

So where does guilt come from? Do we create it ourselves? Is it a by-product of our adhering to our own values, expectations or belief system?

On this episode of Flirting with Enlightenment we talk about the many faces of guilt and how to spot when your own “guilt monster” rises up. We also cover how empaths in particular can feel challenged by guilt because they don’t understand why they are feeling certain emotions, or, feel powerless to help others move through whatever they are experiencing.

Guilt can surface when you:

  • Listen to and focus on negative self talk
  • Are dealing with an emotional situation
  • Feel powerless to help others
  • Listen only to the mind and ignore the heart
  • Are not acting in alignment with your true values

Once guilt moves out of the way, you can look at practical steps to help you take action. During the podcast we provide tips and tools to look at guilt with fresh eyes and help you get to the core reason it may be clouding your emotions, happiness and well-being.

How can you tell when guilt is blocking you from moving forward or feeling more joy? Do you have a way of tuning in to the truth behind it?
