The solar plexus chakra and heart chakra are up next in our journey through the seven core chakras. If you missed our episode on the root and sacral chakras, please check that podcast out first!

On the latest episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment, we explore an overview of the solar plexus chakra and heart chakra. We also provide tools on how to balance these 3rd and 4th chakras to enhance the mind, body, spirit connection from the inside, out.

Solar plexus chakra, otherwise known as the “sun within”, is represented by the color yellow and is our personal power center. When we get a “gut feeling”, this is the area in our body where we often feel it first.

Calling on the energy of the first two chakras, the solar plexus chakra helps us personalize an energy, feeling or idea. It also enables us take our “root beliefs” as well as the creative and emotional patterns from the sacral chakra, and transform insight into inner wisdom. In many ways, the solar plexus is where the material and quality of our thoughts begin to take shape.

Our heart chakra is represented by the color green. It acts as a bridge between the lower chakras (located lower on the body and spinning at a slower pace) and connects to the higher chakras (located higher on the body and spinning a bit faster). As a “crossing point”, the heart prepares us to take the information we receive from the lower chakras, and find a way to integrate it into our life. An ongoing practice of tuning into the wisdom of our heart helps us become a more whole-hearted person because of it’s centralized position along the spine. The heart chakra is also where the spiritual self starts to awaken.

As mentioned in our kick-off chakra post, “External influences, people and stress all play a role in how our chakras allow energy to flow. Once we understand how the energy centers operate within our own body, the more empowered we become with how to manage them for our best well-being and balance.”

Here are additional insights on the solar plexus chakra and heart chakra. You can also listen to Kundalini Awakening Basics for a more detailed idea of why chakras are so important to mindfulness, personal development and well-being.
