“Signs and How We Assign Them Meaning” on Spreaker.

The signs you see in your life can come in all shapes and forms, but how you assign those signs a meaning is what counts. It’s also the easiest way to make yourself crazy and stuck in mental loops, instead of sitting in presence and appreciation to see what a sign has to offer.

Which is why it’s so important to examine the different types of signs you notice, and how you process the information that comes with it for you.

On the latest episode of the Flirting With Enlightenment podcast, I talk about how signs serve your spiritual path and practice, and help you transform from the inside out based on how you view them. I also touch on how personal life experience I’ve had with signs, and ways to work with the insights you get personally from a clear, grounded place.

Your mindset, fears, experiences, and willingness to open your heart all impact the signs you see and how you interpret them. At the same time, signs can fall into one of two categories:

Internal signs – the things you see, sense, and feel at the core of your being, including an inner knowing that feels clear and true.

External signs – the things you notice outside of yourself, such as animals, feathers, people, songs, running into certain people at the “right” time, and anything you may see as a coincidence.

All of this information is great, especially if you find it useful. At the same time, we need to be mindful not to focus all attention of analyzing and counting on the meaning of signs, without checking in with your state of mind, body, and spirit.

What do I mean by that? Well, it’s easy for humans to turn anything into a sign that something is meant to be, especially if it points us in the direction of something you want desperately. Which is why it’s so important to:

  • Find ways to get grounded through regular meditation, exercise, and general self-care
  • Understand the difference between a clear intention from a loving, spiritual place, and the ego leading you with fear-based intention for self-protection

I touch on all this and more in the latest episode.
